REECO soldering robots - the Good Design Award 2018 in the Work categoty
26 main prizes "Good Design 2018" and 6 special prizes were awarded on Thursday during the 25th jubilee gala of the Good Design competition. Producers, distributors, service providers and design studios have been awarded, whose products are characterized by high quality of design. The main prize in the "Work" category was RENEX Wloclawek, for the design of the REECO soldering robot.
REECO RE-2100 robot in a modern housing, is a device for selective soldering of through-hole components. Despite a huge progress and miniaturization of electronic devices, the PTH components can not be eliminated from the production of electronic packages. Large capacitors or power transistors will still be needed. Currently, the device is the only robot on the market, that has an edge transport. This means that thanks to SMEMA communication, the robot can be integrated into any production line, regardless of the technology used. In practice, it gives invaluable development opportunities for the automatic production of PCBA, which contain lead-through components.
In 2015, RENEX received the main prize in the Good Design competition for the REECO anti-static furniture design from the Premium series. This year's award shows, that the company continues to develop its products and puts not only on their usability, but interesting, modern design. The REECO brand is currently distributed throughout Europe through the company's branches in Romania, Germany, Slovenia, Serbia and Croatia as well as a network of distributors in Western Europe.
The winners of the Good Design competition are those who received the main prizes, i.e. the awards of the Institute of Industrial Design awarded by the interdisciplinary jury in October. The Good Design Awards are also a sign, that a producer can mark a product on a store shelf, support and build strong Polish brands. They are awarded in nine categories: Home, Work, Public Sphere, Services, New technologies, Graphics and packaging, New materials, Transport and communication, and Fashion and accessories.
Bo┼╝ena Gargas, chairman of the board of the Institute of Industrial Design, said that industrial design is a "bridge between what is and what can be. It is an interdisciplinary profession, that harnesses creativity for problem solving. It provides an optimistic way of seeing the future, transforming limitations in opportunities. It combines innovations, technologies, research, business and clients to create new, valuable products in the spheres - economic, social and environmental." She explained that these words - taken from the definition of the World Design Organization - are known, while less obvious is "how difficult it is to bring this process to an end, how difficult it is to translate into market success".
"Modern industry relies heavily on automated processes, which is why a device that allows even more advanced robotization of production deserves attention. REECO brings innovation to the industry, thanks to which it is possible to achieve even greater efficiency and precision and a higher level of automation of the production line. The soldering robot distinguishes itself on the market with its adaptation to contemporary needs and with the potential of making the economy more competitive in the high-tech electronic industry, which is a distinctive feature of the modern country "- this is how the experts talked about the REECO robot.
The competition was organized to show what design is all about, what is the purpose of design and industrial design - said Bo┼╝ena Gargas, president of the Institute of Industrial Design, in the Jedynka radio station. She added, that the interest in participating in the competition is increasing.
